Copper Fittings With Solder

    I tried them once and found that I had to add some solder to the joint, which sort of defeats the purpose...
    I'm sticking with standard copper fittings and solder!

      why did you feel that you needed to add more solder ?. Did you test the joint prior to adding more solder ?. capillery action works quite well, and snob wiping is over soldering. pre soldered couplings may help the amature, and those that cannot solder up hill. I wouldnt write yorkshire fittings off all together, they are helpful in certain areas. We have all soldered in hard to get to places. If you clean the pipe, and flux accordinally, there is no reason to add more solder.
      As my mentor once told me, a pulled bend cannot leak, my bending skills improved dramatically !.
