  • Smell from newly installed tankless???

I have only installed 3 electric tankless water heaters in my career so bear with me.......has anyone heard complaints from customers that they smelled an odor from the water after installation? Like a burned smell?

      I'm with D'Brie on this.
Perhaps just a real good flushing of the pipes is in order.
I'm curious to hear what this turns out to be.

You can get a flushing kit (pump, descaling fluid, risers) or use white vinegar and water for 30 - 45 minutes through the boiler drains.

Does the smell dissipate over time? Could just be the new elements. Kind of like when you run the furnace for the first time of the year. Just a guess.
