  • So what Torch do you use...

Gonna go buy my very own torch tonight (have always borrowed from my dad)

I'm gonna buy the Bernzomatic TS8000. Seems like a good torch for 50 bucks.

I was wondering what torches you guys prefered.

I use that torch with Mapp gas, don't buy the one without the flame adjustment.

I only use acetylene on 1 1/4" or larger.

The kind with a blob of lead down the torch head so the past 3 days my flame has been horrible.

The Bernzomatic will be fine for what you need (1/2" through 1") It can get a little hard to manuver in tight places.

I still like my Lenox Mobile Torch

When this came out, heavy discussion were brought about of the design of this product, concerns and what not.

Have you been using it for years without any problems? I thought it was a great idea.

I'm using MC tanks still with turbo torch setup.

About 2 years now no problems other than the hose split and had to be replaced. I replace hoses about once a year anyways when they start to fray

I started a thread on the Lenox system but ProPlumb talked me out of it with all the problems he had. Maybe I will give it a second look.

Acteylene-Turbo torch is very versatile you can use it almost anywhere.
The Bernzomatic will end up on a shelf somewhere when you find out how limited it is. If you really want the bernzomatic spend a little more and get the one with a 6' hose it's still not as good as a turbo acetylene torch but it costs less.
