  • Abs vs pvc

why do they use abs here in california? what advantage does it hold over pvc other than no priming needed?
    Buy cheap, buy twice.

Funny , We both have East coast experience. You'll see all PVC back EAST, ABS out west.
I'm told PVC is superior. I just have way to many ABS FITTINGS.
I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

ABS pipe is cheaper. At least it is for me.

ABS and the fittings cost more on the East Coast! Go figure.

I only see abs on trailers here. when I look at a piece of it in lowes, it looks like heat made it curve or contort.
No, it's not rocket science, it's plumbing and unlike rocket science it requires a license.

Im in MICHIGAN and ABS Is NON Existint.

We use only pvc. I would not even no where to buy ABS or even if it is available.

I'm also in Mi. I have never seen abs sold. If I work on a trailer I have to transition with fernco's to pvc.

Toronto, Canada is 100% ABS (above ground). Drive across the border to Buffalo, New York and it's all PVC...go figure!

There is a TRANSITION GLUE to glue directly from ABS to PVC.

                    Re: Abs vs pvc

Channel Island University spec'd PVC for their residential units less than three floors in height.
The plumbing contractor had an in with the supplyer on it,tens of thousands of dollars dropped his price low enough to where he could give future developers a discount if they went with PVC.Not a hard sell when you convince the owner it's also a superior product.

                    Which it is.

I did not know this. I guess i'll shelve my instant disdain when I see them glued directly together.
