  • Gas Co.

    The most amazing thing happened

Smelled gas at the neighbors house the other day.Warned him DO NOT call the Gas Co.

What happens while I'm out at dinner tonight with some close friends?

He calls and leaves a message "The gas co. shut off my gas"

Details to follow as to why this guy is viewed as "Stupid Guy"

    Re: Gas Co.

    Adam,

are you living on my street? Same thing happened to my customer/neighbor last night only they didn't talk to me first. I don't get it I've done a lot of work for them, she has smelled gas out front in front yard ( vault meter ) for a month and never mentioned a thing. The carpet cleaner said he smelled gas so she called gas co. Nice clamshell lock and I don't have a key. Renting fussion machine Monday morning after it stops raining

Does anyone know where I can get key that will open the clamshell ? Alright everyone chill its a yard leak. Used to be able to just take out a plug and get gas on temporarily.

I liked it when they used to either put an expandable plug in the tee or a disc in the union. Now its the clamshell thing!

amazing, same thing happened to me tonight too

was working at a customers house yesterday and parked in front of the neighbors house, who is also my customer

when i went to my side door, i smelled gas by the outside parkway meter vault

i knocked on his door and mentioned it to him. my brother was in the area and came by to say high he too told me that he smells gas.

told the neighbor that i will check it when i'm done.

found a 1'' merchant coupling with a small leak with my soap spray.

told the owner that 1 is his and 1 is the gas co. since it's been leaking for months, wait until a day your free and it's not raining. i told him the last thing you want to do is call the gas co for a small leak on a friday night and they shut you off

i guess he was smarter than me as he waited until saturday night and called me while i was out with friends for dinner

wife and 2 kids are going to have to huddle to stay warm as it's suppose to continue to rain through sunday

funny as i even took photos yesterday of the job

          rick.

small leak at the merchant coupling. been leaking for months.

as you can see, this is a curb box and requires the meter to be removed. not a fun job when it's not raining.

            Re: Gas Co.

It is a fairly common problem believe it or not. I just sent Rick a bunch of photos I look of one at the curb that was leaking in Los Angeles on Friday. Same thing happened and the guy called like a idiot and they shut the meter down. Now he leaves me a message he's cold but he's going to have to wait until the rain stops. I'm going to have to pull the meter out of the vault to fix this one.

There was a house explosion here just the other day, it completel leveled the house. Blew the two home owners out into the back yard (they lived) and a teenage son in the basement did not make it.

                  You know Rick.
I'm only looking to offer a little information and maybe some humor here.
Maybe get a little recognition from time to time.

I can't believe you would stoop to such low levels as to try and sabotage my thread.

Now Mark on the other hand I believe as I remember hearing him mention something earlier today.

We had 28 degrees over night earlier this week.
