  • Collins 22a Tray

I am trying to locate a used newer style 22a tray with the cutter on it for my 1956 "old syle" machine. Anyone have any leads?

well you could by my collins 22a used machine and have a complete unit.

or you could retire that machine and buy my brand new in the crate collins/ rothenberger 22a for a great price

I believe a 1956 machine would be a 22 rather than a 22A. A reconditioned carriage with cutters and heads might set you back $1,200 to $1,800. My guess is Ricks used machine would be under $1,000. Shipping could be expensive but I do have a son who drives up to Idaho about once a month to visit inlaws.

I know the tray would be that much new I was hoping to find a used tray off a scraped machine. The only reason to scrap one of the is if it fell off the back of the truck. I love my machine but I want to be able to use the select-o-matic die head and modernize it with the cutter on the tray rather than the chuck. I will try the people you reccomended next week and see.

Are saying you think Rick would sell a machine?

                  lets see i have 2 collins 22a, 3- ridigd 700, 2 knock off 600's and a new ridgid 300.

i think i can spare a few machines and not miss it

but who knows. 1 day when copper is no longer the pipe of choice, i'll go back to threading water and sell my propress tools too
