Just a product that might help you out. Here, inspectors will check the trap adapter closely. No purple primer, they'll make you cut it out.

I haven't tried it, but it might be useful.

Don't know. I didn't read it thoroughly at the supply house but I think any UV light will do.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Nothing. Some have had a spill, splat or flick in a white cabinet, on a tub etc.

If it were to happen with clear, it is basically invisible.

They won't allow us to use it here in Minnesota, code says it has to be purple primer and they are strict about it, inspectors do look for it.

Inspectors fail to realize that clear primer does the SAME THING as purple primer, but yet the code wants purple because Inspectors are lazy.

I have never had a problem with inspections using clear on trap adapters. Most of the inspectors in my area have some common sense.

I've never really had a problem either. I was questioned one time, until I showed him that I did use clear, because I was out of purple.

That's funny. I thought we had to use purple primer now because too many plumbers were lazy and wouldn't use the clear cleaner. They would just have the can laying around and claim they used cleaner when an inspector asked.

When I was an apprentice the owner of one of the shops I worked for told me not really use the cleaner. Just keep the can around. Gotta save that penny...
