  • Chop saw for 6" PVC?

Anyone know of a chop saw that can cut 6" PVC (SDR 26 & sched 40)?

I have an old Milwaukee that does 4" no problem, but haven't been able to find one that will handle 6" pipe. It would be great to have one that save time and make square cuts quickly

i dont think there is one
you can rig it up so you can roll the pipe as you cut it
we went and got a gas demo saw to cut large pipe ,we make up rollers and make a mark around the pipe as a guide as cutting it

Not too handy if you're already locked into the ground....anyway.

I have a Rothenberger reciprocating saw that has a pipe chain clamp. I clamp it to the pipe and put in the 12" blade and lock the saw onto the clamp and cut one nice square cut.

There are metal cutting band saws, that will cut 7 inches round, for example,

one may consider a industrial chop saw in the 20" blade size, and change the saw blade to a negitive rake carbide blade ,

rule of thumb is take the blade diameter and divide in half. then deduct 2'' for the blade stabilizer washer and that gives you the max. depth of cut.

              a 6'' pipe is roughly 6.5'' od. so a 16'' blade will be 8'' - 2'' = 6'' cutting depth. an 18'' will be 9'' - 2'' = 7''

good luck finding a 18'' portable chop saw.
