  • please help? 45 degree framing square

    hey guys,

i'm a union pipefitter out of colorado and was working a shutdown a few months ago and a co-worker pulled a full length 45 degree framing square out of the gangbox. never having seen one before i was excited. after asking him where he got it i was disappointed when he replied that it was a hand me down from his father. anyone that is familiar with pipefitting can attest to how big of a pain in the *** it is squaring up large 45 degree fittings by yourself. if anyone knows where i could find one it would be much appreciated. i have looked all over the internet and have yet to find anything. thanks again.

copy and paste. not quite sure if i understand the rat reference though. just a standard 24 X 16 framing square except not a right angle, a 45 degree angle. i'd never seen one before and was wonderin if someone else had. i posted on both forums just to see if i'd get a few more responses

Welcome to the RIDGID Forum. Its not a requirement or written rule so you would have no way of knowing but generally speaking the practice here is to post to only one forum area. You just have to make a decision as to which forum topic area best suits your question.

Seeing as you are new we will let you slide this time. But some of us can't wait to jump in a newbies ship for making such an easy mistake. I'm not getting on you just trying to inject a bit of humor so please stick around and enjoy.

I have seen those 45 framing squares you ask about in the past but I don't remember who makes them.

no, what i'm looking for is a framing square that is bent at a 45 degree angle. it helps for fitting up 45's because you only need one square not two and three hands. the sumner one looks about right.
