I might try it on a pvc fitting and see how it works. No need to cut a fitting out if putting around the outside will stop the leak.

Wouldn't putting the putty on the toilet 1st save the step of having to trace the shape of the bowl?

I might have just saved you alot of touble.

No problem, figured it was a misunderstanding.

For sure not I dont deal with other mens junk.... rashed up or not. Try a soaking solution of thanksgiving gravy and follow with cold milk.

I do not have to avoid what I cannot see.

Unbelievably I was sold some wax rings recently that went bad. ???

These rings got hard as a freaking rock, warming them up did absolutely nothing. You could swing a hammer at one and it would indent it, but you would not hit the floor with one swing.

Knowing this latest revelation, I'm pretty effing pissed because if I start getting leaks on those rings because they are contracting under the toiet, I'm going to cast a spell down upon thee.

Maybe some putty would help that too? Who knows?

Wax, WAX son all the way.

Show me soft putty, and I will show you the container it came out of hiding behind your back. In my entire plumbing career, I have yet to come across soft putty in the field. That crap even goes bad in the container it comes in for crying out loud. Why on earth would you use a product you KNOW is going to go bad 100% guaranteed?
