Re: Some days you are the Hammer

    Okie:

I use this stuff from MyTana to clean up the "concentrated evil" that comes out of waste lines.

    http://www.mytana.com/products/cart....etail&p=22&c=8

It's supposed to be a non oil way to keep cables clean. Anyway, it smells OK and is non toxic, but also seems to clean up the concentrated evil pretty well.

What did you end up using, and were tiles damaged or did a good cleanup suffice?

Like Geno said your cable still looks good, so tell the people it's a good thing your cable is O.K. or that job would be even more expensive. Then tell them are they going to clean that mess or do they want to pay plumbers wages to clean it.

The tile usually cleans up pretty good. It's the grout lines that are the killer. Looks like an older person's place. They can be very understanding at times.

The Plumbing Gods are angry with you

Maybe a little payback for starting those threads about Hacktown, USA

Push that cable a few more feet and maybe find some carpeting to clean too

I kinda like the spray pattern on the floor

These days I'll say "Plumbing fairy" instead of "Plumbing gods" since I had a customer become agitated and instructed me about there being only one true God. (Etc.)

After seeing the pic of the vanity trap doing an "Alien" birth event I was wondering what if someone would have been standing there brushing their teeth? And they were old, and deaf, and blind. (just saying)

Ya know, a 17 ga. trap wouldn't do that to you.

Customers were very cool about everything... I cleaned everything up in about an hour.
Best I can tell I missed the drop and jumped across what looks like a pressure Tee on its back inside the wall... I really did not have a chance

This is the same house that has the HVAC ductwork filling up with pookie water that I posted about in a thread a couple of days ago.

All in all I learned a lesson and was lucky to have a good customer...

This house has an appointment with my jackhammer on Thursday so I'm sure to have a few good pics

Nope, not Pollock, his third cousin Jake Poolock.
You can tell by the short brush strokes and wonderful transitions of light to dark, and the absent lack of the Pollock splatter.
