who here has installed one of these fill valves?

i just installed one @ my house, these are really nice. definitely my new favorite!

they have a valve on the refill tube, finally someone figured out that you dont need all that water blowing down the drain.

and they are cheaper than the fluid master 400

    found them at home depot

About 3-4 years ago, I got a Hydro Clean HC660 for free to try out, and never have.

I still have it, and I think it's a nice design, but not at $12.00 a shot as I was quoted back then.

Was told a Plumber designed the ball cock.

In the end, I'm still a Fluidmaster fan.

I read the website they aren't for my area with wells. So fluid master it is. I used to use the coast foundry 1b1s and the transition to fluid masters was a tough one

90% of all new toilets come with fluidmaster ballcocks.

toto ballcocks are junk and they know it.

i've tried just about every gimmick of a ballcock and so has kohler and american standard. they all have come back to fluidmaster for their oem ballcocks.

fluidmaster has a ballcock that will work for just about every new toilet and most old toilets. their most expensive one fits a kohler with a side mount and that's still under $30.00. the standard 400a is still under $6.00

Then could you use a Fluidmaster 400a in a Toto with the GMax and still have the normal flush?

Korky made some for toto and now TOTO uses a different manufacturer for their ballcocks....at least some of them anyway....I do not know who the new kid is.

My experience has been NO. It changes the flush to the worse.

Thanks TM, I just did not want to monkey around with it so I just install and OEM last time.

Rick mentioned the 400hr with the hr standing for high rate on the refill of bowl water. Thats the difference, with the 400a the refill rate is less and it starves the Gmax for bowl water.

actually it's a pro45hr. the hr is the high refill. there are 4 different colored refill nipples that you attach to the refill port to adjust the bowl level refill. they work very good and are approx. 50% more in cost than the 400a in price. still a bargain for a ballcock that will last 20 years with minimal repairs.

Rick, have you ever tried the Geberit valves. I used to swear by the fluidmasters but I had a bad run with a batch. Also found that the working pressures on the Geberit were better suited for pump systems.

I will have to look into the pro45hr and see if they are available. Thanks for the info Rick.
