Re: Anyone have a running rope for sale?

Just used mine last week. So sorry I can't sell mine. I almost pulled it off of the truck, so glad that I didn't.

Yeah Rick we can't do that here. It's got to be a monolithic joint.

Has to be one continuous pour also, no double dipping.

THAT is something I'm going to try! I've never heard of that before. Thanks. I'll take a pic if it works.

            Ron,

I tried 4 wholesale houses up here (including Ferguson) with no luck. I called Kirk, who flipped me to Marv. Marv told me where I can get one. Richard's Specialties in Chicago. (for those who want to know.) They're made of Fiberglass, not asbestos like the old ones.

Anyway, It's only one joint so I'm going to give the putty form a shot before I call Richard's Specialties.

Upside down joints? Why am I surprised?

I've made one in the past out of multiple strands of oakum braided together and a pair of vice grips, not the prettiest looking joint I've ever poured but it worked. We've been using the joint runners on 2",3",4" instead of a rope lately and they don't seem to have a good lifespan, the rivits that hold the metal piece on seem to pull out the rubber after a little while.
