Re: Looking for a new closet auger

The general 6 footer is the one I like best, but with the smaller bulbhead. I broke a customer's toilet once when the large bulbhead model got stuck.

I've used General and have for years. I've tried Ridgids and Marco's......pure junk.

It was interesting to hear the general beat the ridgid. I carry both in the van. Both are 3 to 6 feet models. The ridgid has that drop head on it with a hook, the hook more fierce than the one on my general. I ve found that depending on the toilet one would go through when the other would not. It has been a 50/50 with both units so that i lug both to every toilet i visit. Last week my ridgid grabbed and wrapped out a white plastic bag out of a crane power flush type bowl. I was pleased that it worked out. A few times neither would make it through the bowl outlet. However, they both offer a great work out i remember when used during a hot summer day!
