  • Turbo or soft flame ?

I've been using turbo's for years ..No issues..My buddy can't stand em'.Say's it heats up too quick, burns up fittings etc..the debate continues..I have a sweet "J" tip for my turbo rig , use nokorode flux, and right now lenox solder..no issues and wipes off to a gleaming finish..Don't know depends what you are comfortable with .I cannot stand that long struggle of a soft flame torch tip..just my .02

I know with propress none of this is needed..sorry beat you to it

I use both. I have a mapp gas torch which I use for small jobs and under 1 inch, but as soon as I get into 1 to 3 inch copper and especially if there is water a bit still causing difficulty I use my acetylene turbo torch. Makes the job go faster. Also if I gotta do any brazing with silfos, the turbo torch is irreplacable.

I like the screaming of a Turbo torch. Scares the bejeebies out of my customers and makes me feel like I'm in charge.

All my contracting friends use a Lenox setup...when they heard my Turbo torch they all ran and swear somethings wrong with it!! Glad to see its not just me!

I only use my turbo torch...I've seen way too many amateurs burn fitting with the big tip using propane...or even worse...MAPP.......You need to use the correct size turbo tip for the right size pipe........
