  • Kohler Faucet Tech Tip

If you ever have the pleasure of working on this faucets diverter be advised that if the faucet was made prior 1998 I believe the parts will be different than what you will get in the repair kit. The old washer that makes the diverter divert was quarter 25 cent sized and a tad thicker than a quarter. the replacement kit gives you machined brass piece that looks like a cars wheel.....and an "o" ring slips where the tire would be on the wheel and thats what it uses to make it divert.

Well I have had two that after the replacement kits were installed with the modified parts it would leak out of the handsprayer as the tub filled.

I removed the replacement parts and made diverter washers out of sheet rubber. Worked like a champ.

    Here is the faucet.

Yes the home has great water pressure so that is probably a contributing factor. I believe the "o" ring they supply is too loose and needs to fit tighter. All surfaces were clean and not pitted.
