Re: An open letter to industry and the tradesmen of America

Maybe my kids are odd ones,my son and stepson both applied at the hall for entrance into the apprentice program, placed 16th and 21st out of 3 or 4 hundred applicants. The union has been on a freeze for new aprentices since so they both have found something else to do.They hear about how new guys are treated, what the works like, the cold, the heat, the mud,the idiots from me,all the stories. Now for all of their lives I've been a foreman doing only new construction and they were on the recieving end of what I've been able to provide them thru my employment and something made them want to follow in those footsteps, they were offered 4 years of college on us if they chose to do it but something made them choose to try a trade, maybe someday the economy will give them the oppourtuity to do it.
Steve in the trade since 73 doing new residential/Commercial work
