I have a Toledo 999 machine and have been having a problem threading 3/4 and 1 inch pipe lately. My threads are getting messed up. I've heard on the internet that a lot of pipe these days is made from junk metal and has hard spots. When I talked to my pipe supplier, (who has no problem threading the pipe on their machine), he said I have to switch to dies made for stainless steel pipe. Anyone else heard of this??? Since Curtis-Toledo no longer sells dies for the 999 machine, I have to figure out a way to adapt a Ridgid 535 adjustable die head (or whatever) to my 999 machine. Any suggestions here? Thanks!
