  • Roots in sewage ejector pit!!!

I came across a sewage ejector pit, where roots are growing into the pit around the incoming 4" abs pipe. I have tried methods such as silicone and concrete, and have used crystals trying to kill the roots. However, they manage to keep growing in. Any ideas????

    Thanks!

Remove the miscreant, ie., the tree causing the problem.

it's not to uncommon for roots to get into the pit.

is it a real sewage pit or an area drain/ emergency drain pit and pump like in a subterraneum garage i see in la. is it a fiberglass basin or concrete?
if you pump out the water to the lowest level and add 2# of root-x, let it sit for 4 hours or more before the water level rises, this should kill the exposed roots for a year or 2.
