  • Not a Doobie

Sadly, the hacks from my company are still going strong, though they no longer work there. This is the second unit in 2 weeks where the guy used 1/4" aluminum pilot tubing to plumb the humidifier. This one is just under one year old, on city water. The tube was plugged fully on both ends and the solenoid valve plugged so bad it couldn't be cleaned. The end pictured here was forcefully removed from the solenoid valve. It wouldn't just slide out.

    When will it end!!

With water like that, I'd recommend pretreatment, whole house if possible.

It's not so much the water, our city water runs about 7 grains hard with some chlorine, but the pipe used. The aluminum corroded and all those little pieces jammed up everything. Regular copper pipe never has this issue, as it doesn't corrode as readily.
