Haven't you heard? Thats the new International code! They ran out of SAFETY CRAP to add to the water heaters, so they are starting somewhere else. You could have sewage back up in the first trap with a straw in it, that would then allow sewer gas to seep into the house. No one realizes that there a is a foul order in the house, and then Granny comes over to put her Cig out in the sink, like she has done for 40 years, and KABOOOOOOM! With this new Double Trap system, the odds keeping Granny safe are increased. Its the New "Air Gap" of this century.

                HAHAHAHAHHAHA!

Look at the bright side--it is better than no trap at all!

If it siphons it WILL be like no trap at all.

Plumbus: It works. At least it drains. I'm replacing the sink so I will be reworking the drains.

I won't work for ahs anymore. I had a HO call me the other day asking me about clearing some clog at her house and then she asks me if I am liscenced and insured; warning bells go off, no one asks this. I ask and sure enough, AHS. I tell her I won't work for her. She starts asking why, yada yada, did you have a bad experience with them? Ma'am, I've had several experiences with them, they were all bad, and I don't care to have another one. I won't even talk with them on the phone. Life is too short.

I will work for the customer only if that customer guarantees they will pay me. Also, I will not have any phone dealings with any warranty company. That's the customer's problem.

I guess that trap is vented from the basket strainer on the other side. I've seen it done though, several times.

I saw one just like that two weeks ago. They decided they would wait to fix it. I don't know who is doing work for the home warranty companies they are tough to get payment from.
