  • Need Your Professional Opinion ;)

    Hey Guys,

My wife and I are going to be finally buying our first home soon, ( I know, it took long enough )

We want to install some really good toilets after we buy the house.

Would you all be willing to share what toilets break the most ( what to stay away from ) ( maybe a top 5 worst toilets )

And also maybe make a few recommendations to what is the best toilet that never breaks,

I have ( 6 ) kids, and they can be rough

All thoughts welcome and Thanks in advance !

    - Love Joseph

PS- I hope everyone has been well ;-)

      What he said ^^^^^^^^^

I also like the power flush, though they are noisy and had some tank faults in the past (leaks and explosions).

With 8 in the family, I would see about installing a flushometer valve toilet. Quick cycling, strong flush. But you need a 1" water line to the flush valve.

Gerber viper is what I'd recommend. Also think about a plastic or slow closing seat. We have a standard wooden seat in the kids bathroom and it always worries me every time I hear the loud bang of the seat hitting the toilet.
          Buy cheap, buy twice.

Good point, but that would be a nice option

Good call, Rick. I don't understand why we still need 1" when they only put out .5 gallons now. I got a feeling one of the manufacturers will bring out a 3/4" wc valve one of these days, probably Zurn or Toto.

If you go with a flush valve type, how about wall hung as well? Easier to keep clean.

                  Re: Need Your Professional Opinion

American Standard (all models)= garbage IMO. To with any Kohler or Toto products and you'll have no worries
