  • Question for a California plumber.

I've got a guy from San Diego on my crew who is trying to get licensed in Utah. The state will honor his time in Cal. if he can prove the state does not require licensing for plumbers. My question is this; Do you know of a reference I can give him ? Thanks Mike

the state of calif. does require you to be either an apprentice working under a licensed journeyman or licensed c-36 plumbing contractor.

yes, you need to be licensed.

how often do they check for licenses? in the 15 years I worked new construction plumbing 11 as a licensed journeyman, I can only remember 1 time an inspector asked me for a city journeymans license.
