Found out from one of those big laminated counter poster things that heretofore, Avalanche was 3", Maxwell 2", and Viper had some 2" models and some 3" models. And henceforth, all Avalanches, all Maxwells, and all Vipers will be 3".
Gerber is eliminating 2" flushvalve, according to this poster.
Will probably never know which Viper Consumer Report was testing.
The consumer report was from a year or two ago. It was the 2" viper being tested.
FYI, beware of the trip levers on 10" rough tanks. The tank is taller and the lever does not pull the flapper up high enough to get the flapper to stay open. Had to use a generic handle off the truck.......kind of a bummer. Flushes great though!
