    That's pretty big.

That may have broke Garrett MacNamara world record if the height holds up. Many felt the next record would come from the offshore break of Cortes Bank off of San Diego.

        Utah,

Once I was on the water in Waikiki beach in Honolulu. The water was glass. I could barely manage to sit up on a hotel surf board much less stand, much less ride! How this fellow could intentionally, I imagine gleefully, keep his balance while riding down an 80 foot wave when it's curling over the top of you is beyond my ken.

Here is a video of the Cortes Bank. Last year my son Jared organized a helicopter trip out there to film surfers. The problem is it is 100 miles off shore from the closest fuel in San Diego. By the time you get all the way out there you only have a half an hour there before you have to safely return for fuel.

You want to see wave riders with big b*lls, check out Mavericks.
What amazes me is that many of the best are over 40 (with wives and families). You'd think they would have killed themselves by that age.

Speaking of surfing. Robert Duval said it best, " I love the smell of napalm in the morning".

              Just saying.
