  • cutting 3" copper in a tight spot

I have to cut a 3" copper pipe in a wall I've opened up on one side. The problem is, the pipe is against a stud and the opposite wall, which has sheetrock an tile on it. I got it cut partially with my sawsall, but cannot cut it thru. Any ideas? This is a small opening of about 12x18 square. Been looking for some sort of cable saw that would cut copper, but no luck. You help is greatly appreciated.

i am sure you got this problem fixed? curious as to what you did to cut it? i would have tried a jigsaw with a metal blade.

P43 of 2003-2003 Black Book of tools by Colonial Tools 800.255.2292 or blackbookoftolls.com This page shows an attachment for the Sawz All used to cut pipe. I have used mine to cut sprinkler pipe in attics, where there was no clearance to use a pipe cutter.

Best price and very knowledgable sales staff. The catalog (664 pages)is more fun than the Sear's Wish Book. They sell mostly professional quality and brands of tools, including Ridgid
