  • Sump Pumps Twisting?

I have a Pedestal Sump Pump in my basement for the sink and washing machine. When it turns on to pump the water out,the pump wants to twist(trys to go around in a circle). What is causing this to happen????

    Thanks,
    Ken

Check to make sure that the bottom of the pump is sitting flat and level to the bottom of the sump pit.

Well, if whomever installed the pump didn't screw in the discharge piping in all the way then that could result in the sloppy feel. Try unpluging the pump and disconnect the piping at the check valve. Turn the pipe below the check valve clockwise. If the pipe turn, continue turning until the pipe is tight.
