    How do I plug the drain of a toilet. I will not be putting it back but covering with new floring.

    If its going into concrete floor you could break out hole around pipe and put on a cap over pipe, Cast iron or PVC. Or The quick fix would be stuff wet newspaper into pipe, about 6" into pipe and fill in with concrete.

      plumbers dynamite( sort of like plaster of paris) would be a better seal. it sets up fast and pours easy.we usually pour about 2'' thick over news paper to test up to 30' head. also an internal expansion plug would also work if you can get it below the finish floor.
