  • Powerhead fits loosely on WD1450 wet/dry vac?

    Gentlemen,

Just acquired a WD1450 14-gallon wet/dry vac. Nice tool. Ecept for one minor detail I'm curious about:

The power head, even after the latches have been snapped down, fits loosely on the drum. That is, with the latches snapped in place, if I grab the power head by the handle and lift, there is about 1/8" play by whcih it lifts off the drum. The latches don't seal it tightly to the drum.

Is this normal? An dif so, what would be the point of this design feature? IT seems counter-intuitive to leave this chamber where you've vacuumed up stuff you don't want want outisde, unsealed.

    Thanks.

mine is the same. when the vac is on the suction keeps it sealed.

OK, thanks for the info. Good to know it's not just mine with a flaw.

But I still wonder about it. Ya, the suction keeps it sealed while operating, but then when it's off, the stuff you were trying to keep inside may escape when you pick it up by the handle.

      Just seems odd.
