After reading the zillion posts about the ridgid vs dewalt planers, I am wondering how the dust collection is on the ridgid.

    Any comments?

I use the 4" end on mine with my 2 hp DC. Works great!

I actually use the 2" port on mine with my shop vac and also have no problems. I have not planned tons of wood all at the same time so have not had problems with the vac filling up too quickly, but can see that being a problem if you were doing a lot of wood at the same time. But that issue would exist no matter the brand.
      Still enjoying all 10 fingers!

        Re: Ridgid TP1300

I have used both a 4" conversion without the shroud and the 2.5" hose attached to the shroud with equally satisfying results. I have plumbed the 2.5 fitting down to the side rail for easy access but I do have to remove the assembly for blade tilt - no big deal since everything is press fitted.
