  • Ts2400 Ls

I am looking at the Ridgid TS2400 LS table saw. I notice that is doesn't have a smooth polished table surface like the other saws. Is there a reason for that and any pro's or con's to the rough surface? Seems like it would be harder to push the wood through the saw with a rough surface?

The rough surface actually reduces stiction to the workpiece so it slides smoothly. I have a TS2400LS and the workpiece slides quite effortlessly on it. Unlike the cast iron tops on which the wood will tend to stick to it if its not lubed or waxed.

The one thing I've noticed is that it scratches very easily. Is there any solution to that or you just put up with it?
