  • Blade problems w/ Jigsaws?

I own both a cordless and electric jigsaws and can't figure out why the blades will not stay within the chuck/blade clamp. They keep popping out. I've tried both types of blades, solid and with the keyhole. Neither will stay in place.

    What's the secret?

The Bosch T shank blades work best but the saws will use either type. The chuck is very tight when new and requires wiggling to seat the blade all the way. If only one was spitting out blades I would say perhaps you have a broken chuck but for both to be doing it I would think it is more likely to be improper installation of the blade.

I agree with Wbrooks that the chuck is tight on the MaxSelect when new and the chuck arm slightly overthrows the chuck so the chuck is slightly past the straight on position which makes it difficult to fully insert the blade. I have had two of them and have had to turn the tool upside down and slightly release the chuck arm for the alignment to be correct when inserting the blade.
