  • Oil on a new spindle sander

I just bought a new RIDGID oscillating edge belt/spindle sander from HD. When I got it out of the box, it had oil on the bottom of it and oil in the plastic bag the surrounded the tool. Does anyone know if this is just protecting the tool or is it leaking vital fluids from the motor/clutch assembly? I need to know so I can take it back to HD if needed. Thanks.

You are the second person to post with this problem. It is not normal take it back and get another one.

Here is a link to the other thread regarding the same problem.

It is not normal and it would be wise to get a replacement for it.
