  • Router Table Mounting Plate

I am looking for an inexpensive mounting plate for the router table. Rockler gets $50 and the price seems to go up from there. I have looked through McMaster for ideas and prices, I have the ability to machine raw material to any size, I just don't want to pay $50 for a piece of flat aluminum with holes in it.
Any one got any good ideas?
    Steve.

just go buy a scrap of 1/4" Al and make your own as you said.
should be able to get enough for two plates for $20.00
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
    John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

There is or was a scrap yard up the road a bit that had a allot of aluminum. I forgot about him. I will give that a try.
      Thanks.
