i picked up an 8" stackable dado blade the other day at harbor freight but when i went to put in on i noticed the manual says the saw is designed for a 6" stackable dado blade, but the accessories show only 8" dado blade inserts... will 8" stackable work?

An 8" blade will work just fine. I use an 8" on mine all the time. Just be reasonable when feeding and don't make passes of more than about 3/8" depth at a time.

The HFT one that is in the stores is a lightweight 8" set. The catalog one is much heavier plate and thick carbide. I use a 6" Freud sd206 on my job site saw and RAS. That mass and vibration is hard on the direct drive saws especially the jobsite ones with all that plastic . Limiting the depth is a good idea.
