Considering these are the prices for Ni-Cads $99 doesn't sound crazy high. Also no one else but Ridgid offers a LSA on anything. Most companies offer a 2 year max vs Ridgids 3 year.

The prices on Ridgids batteries are not bad compared to what other brands sell for at HD. The Makita 3.0 lithium is $99 as well, and doesn't have the LSA. And you can usually find some on ebay for less, which is ok since the individual ridgid batteries don't have the LSA either.

That's the one problem with ridgid, they're not sold anywhere else. I was talking about the price's as compared at HD. I have seen brand new Ridgid batteries on ebay selling for a lot less.

Considering the Nicads are what $80 a pop and they did have a 2 pack for like $15 more I would think after while you will see the same thing on the Li-Ion a 2 pack for $115-120 which would put them right back in the ball park.

Individual batteries are always way overpriced.
