That Ridgid 18V hammer drill is 7lbs without the handle. The size and weight may be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the job/location. If you are okay with the weight it can be found as part of the 5pc Ni-cad clearance specials $299 or others.

Too heavy, for an 18 volt tool. Go for the 24 volt XLi hammer drill - weight is comparable, and the performance is much, much better. It will also work with the 18 volt batteries.

FYI: The clearance price of the Nicads are very good but the 3pc 18V Nicad kit $169 has a non-hammer drill that weighs about 7 lbs with the max hc battery. The hammer drill + max 2.5 battery found in the 5pc 18V Nicad kit $299 weighed about 7 lbs. I prefer to have lighter tools so I may reconsider the Lithium drills because they are the latest in tool technology. The run time of the 18V Li-ion compact drill may be shorter but its so much lighter!! I will have to put it to the task (Li-ion) and see how it performs.
