  • Band Saw Blade

I added a 6" riser to my 12" Craftsman Band saw. Before I added the riser it used a 80" blade. Now that the riser is installed to I add 6" to the length or 12". Since it raised the top weel 6" do I have to add 6" to each side of the blade?

Take a piece of string and install it as you would a blade. Measure how much string you used and you'll know exactly how large of a blade you'll need.

You would be at 92" - 6 to each side. Problem is I believe the nearest standard length blade to that is 93.5". It is unlikely you will be able to get enough tension on a blade that length, you may need to buy coils and make your own to the correct length with a splicing kit like this one from LV
