  • 16 gallon wet/dry vac filter issues

I just bought my great 16 gallon steel vaccum. I went to clean the filter and didn't realize the bottom cover to the filter is removable. It went into the garbage and never seen again. I can't seem to locate a new one anywhere. Could anyone give advise on locating one. I bought my vaccum at Home Depot and they do not sell cover plate. Any Help....

You can more than likely get one from Ridgid. Or, you can use the Gore CleanStream filter. It has the bottom cover built in to the filter.

The Ridgid Catalog number for the filter plate is 12303. You can order that part at www.ridgidparts.com.

Open up the box and have a real good look at the replacement filters. I haven't bought a RIDGID filter (just not needed) in some time but I remember some came with the bottom plate in the box. If not I'm sure you can order it from customer service and it is part number 73317.

This should take you to where you can order it online if you need to do so.

Personally with a really nice shop vac like your's I would upgrade to using the CleanStream super filters. They are easy to clean and really do filter much better.
