    Hey
I have a 12" sliding saw and the guard no longer goes up when i lower the blade. I have looked at one in the store and cannot see anything missing. the roller that pulls the guard up never touches the arm. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Tom

Have you changed or had the blade off lately? I had something similar happen with my CMS once and it turned out that I didn't reassemble everything correctly after I had installed a different blade on the saw.

Look at the plastic bushing that is inside the "S" shaped arm. They have a tendancy to stick and then it will get a flat spot....which just gets worse.
Once it is flat-spotted, it has to be replaced. It can happen to the one on the top of the bar too.
