I have a 5" Ridgid Orbital Sander. It quit working yesterday. Wiring and brushes seem to be OK. Any Ideas out there? Bad Motor?

Not a clue what's wrong. These people should be able to fix it for you. If you registered it into the LLSA Program it won't cost you a cent either.

I had the exact same thing happen to two of that same sander. Was told that static electricity buildup from my vacuum hose zapped the variable speed circuit board. The board was replaced by a Ridgid Service center and now seem to work fine. Will it blow again?????????

Hey, I should have read this post before making my new post. I have had 2 sanders go out for the same reason I believe. One was just 2 days old. I was trying to figure it out, now I know why.
        Thanks
