Hey guys I have a question about cfm's in regards to sandblasting. I am trying to engrave letters into brickpavers for a memorial walkway. The sandblasters needed for this say they use 9 cfms at 90psi. And my compressor says its capable of putting out 10 cfm's at 90psi. If I wanted to blast at 120 psi would I need a much larger compressor? Do I need to blast that high(125psi) when engraving brick and stone?

sounds to me that you have the right cfm's to do the job,but i would be concerned about compressor tank capacity. the more volume of air the better. i have a 7.5 hp 60 gal. it supplies me with more than enough volume to run all air tools in my shop. what size tank do you have?

Not big enough yet. I have been looking at craigs list for a cheap tank with a broken motor. I will just hook the new tank inline with my current one.
