  • Used R4330 Planer for $300 CAD?

Home Depot was out of stock of the 13" planers when they went on sale from $499 to $299 last month so I missed out. I ran across a used one locally for $300, is it worth it if it is only lightly used?

What should I be inspecting on it to make sure it is still in good working order? I was going to bring a sample of my rough cut lumber to help determine if the blades were still sharp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

no as it is not LSA eligible. i would expect a greater discount as compensation for future repair issues.
there's a solution to every problem.....you just have to be willing to find it.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll wait to see if either the Dewalt DW735 or the R4330 goes on sale in the next few months. I've got a lot of planning to do, 50 or so 6x6 and 4x4 beams, 2000 sqft of cedar decking and a house full of rough cut fir trim. I don't want to buy something I'll end up have trouble with 1/2 way through the job.
