    I never seen any form of memory effect on my XRP NiCad batteries. DeWalt also has a FAQ section somewhere, don't have the link handy, where they address this issue, and it's basically what DRC-Wartex said - power tool current draw is to erratic for it to happen.

      He's correct, Memory is almost non existant. However, modern so called memory lies within those crystals. If they become too large they can cause damage and create a rapid discharge, or a short on the seperator plate.

        My Ridgid nicads have performed very well over the years, however the Ryobi nicads were junk.I always tried to run the batteries down as much as possible to prevent memory effect, but the Ryobis didn't last long.
