  • 10 Miter Saw is Dead?

    Hi All,

I've read a few other posts looking for a similar problem, but could not find something similar. I own a 10 inch Miter Saw, which I bought reconditioned about 4 years ago.

The saw has worked flawlessly since I purchased it, until today! I was cutting a piece of pine, nothing fancy or hard, and the blade stopped working halfway through the cut. I unplugged the cord, and pulled the piece of pine off the blade. I inspected the blade, which is straight, and spins perfectly straight.

The only odd thing, other than it stopped working completely, is that it seemed to have cut through the orange plastic cover on the cutting surface. This seems strange to me because the long thin hole on the cutting surface is made so the blade fits perfectly into it. However this time, I saw shredded orange plastic on the blade.

    What gives?

    Thanks guys.

    1. Saw got knocked out of alignment
    2. Dull Blade
    3. Did you hit a knot when cutting the board
    4. Brushes need replacing
    5. All of the above
    6. None of the above
    7. Some of the above
