The charger will list the model numbers of all the batteries it was designed to charge. A year or so ago there was an extensive discussion on this forum regarding the issue of using the older chargers for charging LI batts. Probrand finally posted a statement that Ridgid engineers had stated that the older NiCad chargers could be used for charging LI batts. We have a couple of the Max Twin chargers which I tried for charging LI batts a couple of times. I didn't like the way the chargers cycled with the fans going on and off and the lights operating skitszoid. There have been published reports of LI batts exploding when abused so I reverted to charging LI batts on LI chargers only.
