  • K 39 AF motor died *sniff*

Does my baby have replaceable brushes in it?
It slowed down and was 'grumbly'.
    If it has...!...
How do you get to them?

      Thanks again!
I looked all over for that!
I had a good look in the dark.
      Yup.Could see the brushes arcing.
I had a good look too as I has a break in the
      power cord by the handle.
      Oh well.

I have K 39 I just attempted to repair.... Bad idea on my part...

I thought my motor was going out but it turns out it was the trigger/switch.

If you take it apart you will see that it is no ordinary switch but a spring loaded computer controlled switch that will fly apart and send very small pieces in all directions...(there really is a small computer board in the switch that I believe acts as a proportional control.) Bypass the switch and send power straight to the motor to verify your motor is toasted.

I ended up taking the Autofeed off of my K-39 and putting it on my trusty K-38. The remains of my K-39 are sitting in my garage

I was so sad to loose my K-39 that I went out and bought a new K400 to console myself... Now if the Fedex truck will just show up.

Could he not get a service center to take the motor apart to swap in new brushes? I'm not sure if this is an option with the K39, or maybe not cost efficient.

probably doesn't pay to take it apart unless you can do it yourself. the brushes are probably closly related to what's in a radio controlled car. i doubt you'll find them too easily.

Watch, the price to repair will be so close that.....

              just throw it away.
