  • Li-Ion in older ni-cad tools?

I recently got my Rigid 18v drill stolen along with the batteries (2) and the charger. But, I still have the rest of my set (cordless saw, cordless jigsaw, and sawzall) Would the new Li-Ion batteries that come with a new rigid drill be backward compatible with older non Li-Ion tools that I already have? Or do I need a whole new set?

All Ridgid 18 volt tools and batteries are interchangable.

I had a similar problem. 18v nicad battery died. Li-ion only battery available. Charger is real funky. Some of the tools like drill and reciprocating saw cut out. The battery appears to shut off. Not a overheating problem. No response from tech support and HD was no help. Maybe someone can answer this also about old and new.
