I have a few of the cordless grease guns and they do not even take batteries, just pump the handle.

I agree - I've got one of the Lincoln "pull/pump down handle" types and it can be a real pain when greasing a hard to reach area. Of course, the "pistol" type manual grease gun probably makes things easier, but it doesn't give an excuse to buy a new tool.
That Milwaukee 12 volt line is getting better all the time........
