  • My Battery failed and I know why!

Well I was building a shipping box/crate and using my Ridgid impact driver to install
    2" deck screws...

Then it happened..just like what others experienced!

All of a sudden in the middle of impacting a screw the impact driver just plain stopped!

I pulled back and hit the trigger, the LED lit and the driver bit turned. I said "OK,
let's try this again". The same thing happened..the impact driver stopped cold!

Then I saw what happened...I was knee deep in electrons..Yep! all the stored
electrons in my 18V 3AH lithium-ion battery leaked all over the ground!

I went inside and put the battery on the Ridgid single charger specifically indicated to
    charge lithium-ion batteries....

After Oh, 20-30 minutes I found the battery was refilled with electrons. I did not notice any
difference in weight. I decided "OK, let's try this again".

I installed the battery with new electrons on the impact driver and BEHOLD!
I was able to successfully complete the project without any other incident.

The good news, electrons left on concrete are not dangerous, they simply evaporate
over time so no clean up is required.
